Why replace when you can reface? Read about a recent kitchen project from Dream Doors, specialists in giving new life to old kitchens.

After hearing about their local Dream Doors  franchise on the radio the customers made their first visit to the Dream Doors showroom to discuss updating their kitchen units which were about 20 years old.  Although their kitchen was a good size, with a mixture of wall and floor cabinets, they wanted a lighter, more modern look and felt this could be achieved by changing their dark, wood doors which they felt were very dated.

Expert planning and design

The customers visited the showroom to discuss their brief with the showroom owner who then visited them at home for a planning and design consultation.  Visiting customers in their homes is an important part of the planning and design process for Dream Doors.  Discussing a customer’s brief in situ allows the Dream Doors staff to really understand what elements of a kitchen are working for a customer and where improvements can be made. As well as advising on how the look of the kitchen could be brought up to date with new door fronts and worktops, the showroom owner discussed different storage solutions which could be used to optimise the existing cabinet space.

It wasn’t until 6 months or so after the initial consultation the customers were ready to go ahead with the project and after some small changes on the original brief were discussed the refurbishment went ahead.  Having looked at different door designs and colour choices in the comfort of their own home, the customer chose an Ashford panel door from the Traditional range in fresh, modern alabaster colour.

Stress free fitting

Because we want the fitting process to be as stress free as possible, each Dream Doors showroom has a network of local craftsmen which they project manage so customers do not have the hassle of finding and juggling different tradespeople. In this instance the customer not only needed a fitter to replace the door fronts and worktops, but the showroom owner also coordinated their gas engineer and plumber to fit the hob and plumb in the sink.

Exceeding expectations – the finished effect

The overall effect left the happy customers with a brighter, modern look which opened up their kitchen giving the impression of greater space.  New worktops complemented the new lighter, door and drawer fronts and a new modern hob and cooker hood as well as sink and taps were also fitted to give an all-round contemporary feel.

A very satisfied customer

The customers were delighted with their new look kitchen and love the new, fresh modern look they had achieved without the hassle, mess and expense of a complete refit.  “From our very first visit to the Dream Doors showroom we dealt with a professional team who offered a great selection of quality products and there was no pressure to buy on the very first visit. From start to finish our dealings with Dream Doors were stress free, we are extremely pleased with the kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and neighbours”
